Audio Bibles in Ghana

Faith
Comes By
Hearing
in Ghana

Since 2015, TRC Ministry Collective has partnered with Christian Outreach Fellowship (COF)—Ghana's first indigenous mission agency—to bring transformation to rural communities across the nation. Together, we're planting churches, training local leaders, and bringing Scripture to villages that have never heard the Gospel in their own language. This partnership is built on a simple conviction: the people who know their communities best should be the ones leading them.

The audio bibles proved to be a great hit. When Kwame asked for more, we sent ten more.
How It Started
The story begins in the Douglas County Jail in Alexandria, Minnesota, where Dave Schonberg met Kwame—a young man from Ghana who faithfully attended every Bible study and became a believer in Jesus. After more than a year detained by immigration authorities, Kwame was deported back to Ghana. But the transformative truth he experienced in that jail wouldn't stay silent.

Before leaving, Kwame asked for a Bible so he could share the Gospel with his fellow Ghanaians. When we asked what languages people in his area spoke, he listed several: Ga, Hausa, Ewe, and Tsi. We sent four "Proclaimer" audio Bibles with him. Through Kwame's connection, we met Emmanuel, the Executive Director of Christian Outreach Fellowship, and a partnership was born.

Together with COF, we've distributed over 500 audio Bibles, reaching more than 120,000 people across rural Ghana. But this isn't just about distribution—it's about discipleship. We have over 200 trained workers who return regularly to each village to make sure every Bible is being used and shared, answer questions, and encourage new believers.

In 2019 alone, we saw 48 new churches planted in areas that are primarily Muslim—communities where the Gospel had never taken root before. These aren't Western-style church plants. They're organic, indigenous movements led by local believers who know their culture, speak the language, and will still be there in twenty years. This is what multiplication looks like when you invest in local leadership.
How It's Going
Looking Forward
The harvest is ready, but the workers need resources. There are hundreds more villages waiting to hear Scripture in their own language, dozens more church planters ready to be trained and sent, and communities eager for the Gospel but with no access. Every audio Bible we send reaches entire villages. Every church planter we equip multiplies disciples who plant more churches.

We're committed to standing with Emmanuel and COF for the long haul—not as foreign saviors, but as partners supporting what God is already doing through indigenous leaders in Ghana. The question isn't whether the work will continue. The question is how far and how fast it can multiply with faithful partnership.
