La Cosecha in Mexico

Transforming lives with the Gospel in Mexico

The goal of La Cosecha is four-fold:
-
Pursue rehabilitation of young people and adults, men and women, with problems of alcoholism and drug dependence.
-
Establish a temporary shelter for those in need
-
Support the community in cases of natural disasters
-
Educate society in general about the different causes, dependence, effects, and consequences of addictions

Woven throughout every part of the ministry are three principles: Love, Mercy and Freedom.
How It
Started
La Cosecha Ministry was born out of the personal struggles and ultimate redemption of its director, Otniel Salvador Hernández, who battled severe alcoholism and drug addiction for 17 years before finding Jesus Christ during a two-year stay in a rehabilitation shelter. Inspired to help others find that same spiritual and physical healing, the ministry officially began its service on July 29, 2006.

They originally opened their first shelter in a location that eventually grew to become the site of their current church. From its inception, the ministry's core mission has been the care and prevention of addictions, taking in individuals who have lived on the streets and providing them with a safe haven to safely overcome severe withdrawals, with the ultimate goal that they experience a true spiritual transformation through the Gospel.
