La Cosecha in Mexico

Transforming lives with the Gospel in Mexico

La Cosecha is a home which focuses on helping people recover from addictions. Oti and Gabriela Salvador, along with Hector and Esther Avila, run three locations where they share the great news of Jesus Christ.
The goal of La Cosecha is four-fold:
-
Pursue rehabilitation of young people and adults, men and women, with problems of alcoholism and drug dependence.
-
Establish a temporary shelter for those in need
-
Support the community in cases of natural disasters
-
Educate society in general about the different causes, dependence, effects, and consequences of addictions

Woven throughout every part of the ministry are three principles: Love, Mercy and Freedom.
How It
Started
TRC Ministries’ involvement in Ghana started as a result of a young man named Kwame. Dave Schonberg met Kwame in the Douglas County Jail where Kwame, after faithfully attended every bible study, became a believer in Jesus. For well over a year, he was detained by immigration authorities, when eventually he was deported back to his home country of Ghana, Africa.

But the transformative truth he had experienced in jail would not remain silent. Kwame asked for a bible so that he could share the gospel to his native Ghanaians. When asked what language the people in his area spoke, Kwame replied they spoke several languages: Ga, Hausa, Ewe, and Tsi. We ordered 4 “Proclaimer” audio bibles and sent them to Kwame.
Together with COF, we have distributed over 500 audio bibles reaching over 120,000 people. In 2019, we saw 48 new churches planted in areas that are primarily Muslim. But more than simple distribution, we have over 200 trained workers who return regularly to check on each bible to make sure it is being used, make sure it is being shared, and to answer questions and encourage the believers in the villages.
Our
Partnership
We partner with Faith Comes by Hearing for the audio bibles. Click HERE to learn more about their ministry.
